KickStart Coaching with Hypnosis

What is the purpose of Coaching?

There are times when we find it difficult to ‘see the wood from the trees’. The problem with being IN a situation it is often difficult to see where you need to go next, or what is stopping you doing what you know you need to do.

Coaching - like an ‘external you’ - helps you assess the whole situation and quite often can highlight the obstacles which have been getting in the way of you being more motivated, happier, productive or successful.

Coaching is a process of helping a person formulate and act upon a plan to be the person you want to be.

Like a sports coach, a psychology coach is someone who will assess what you are doing and help you to challenge things that stop you progressing. Imagine what you changes you could make to your life if you had the skills and psychological coaching.

Like sports coaching, professional coaching helps you improve your
psychological performance in the game…the game of life

The Psychological Wish List

If you stopped for a moment and asked yourself how would you like your life to be different and what changes you wish you could make, most of us would dip into our psychological wish list. The list of goals and aspirations that we know would help us feel happier, more content and fulfilled. We carry the list around with us most of the time but for one reason and another we struggle to make it a reality.

Improving our career by changing our job or going for a promotion, being fitter and healthier, overcoming that fear or anxiety which seems to hamper our progress, are just some examples of the things we may have as goals. Our busy lives mean we have little time to think about it.

The most common time that we give serious thought to our goals is when we are stressed and looking for a way out. The problem is, of course, that often we don't’ know how to make the change happen, or it feels such an ambitious task that it seems unachievable.

In my experience, people often under perform because there is a conflict between their desires and their belief in their own abilities. The task of making changes to improve our lives appears scary and sometimes a complex process that we put off sticking with the status quo. Staying with what we know and not upsetting the ‘apple cart’ is perhaps the first obstacle preventing people achieving their goals.

Some goals will be the same as you have worked on before, but we will also be looking at different ways of achieving them

Why is Coaching Combined With Hypnosis Different?

Coaching provides you with a sounding board to discuss, organise and activate different ways of achieving the success you desire. Working together we identify the most useful and effective ways for you to take the steps towards achieving your goals. We can also work on clarifying what you would like your future to look like. Through a supportive and personalised approach we work together to put in place the necessary elements that will help you to focus on your success.

In addition to this I will introduce you to the use of hypnosis as a tool to help maximise your efforts. Learning how to use focused relaxation and real positive suggestion, you can acquire the skills how to re-programme your thinking and challenge the obstacles which have previously prevented you from succeeding.

Hypnosis is not a magical or mystical thing. It is most usefully described as focused relaxation that helps you become more aware and allows you to suggest different ways of behaving which enhance your efforts as you work towards your goals.

The KickStart Coaching Programme

The focus is to assess and work on immediate issues, for example changes at work or home, which are proving to be problematic. Perhaps you have an up-coming promotion and a crisis of confidence? You need to work on your communication skills for interviews, or need a ‘sounding board’ for personal issues.

The aim is to KickStart results from coaching when assistance is needed now. The programme is designed to be focused for each individual and intensive enough to help a person achieve short-term goals.

What is included in the KickStart?

An assessment of the current situation : What is most important to the individual right now? What is the end result we are aiming for? What kind of support is going to be the most useful at the moment?

Establish the graded-step approach to agree on practical steps that need to be made in the short-term.

Identify and work to resolve the psychological obstacles that prevents a person from achieving what they want. This may include:

  • Proactive Psychological techniques to increase confidence and positivity.
  • Assessment of personality type and how this affects your thinking and success.
  • How to challenge the negative thought process that prevents you taking the steps towards your goals.

Hypnotherapy and the use of post-hypnotic suggestion to enhance your positivity and efforts towards change. Learn how to use self-hypnosis for ongoing benefit.

It is the perfect start to on-going coaching where the principals of psychology and positive behavioural change can be applied with greater depth.

KickStart lays the ground work for further success and it is quite likely an on-going coaching programme (once or twice a month) would be enhanced by the KickStart.

How long does the process take?

KickStart usually would span four sessions - with each session being spread over a maximum of eight weeks. While the regularity of sessions is important, the consistency and commitment to the process are crucial. You are investing not in the process but in yourself. Through coaching with hypnosis you learn and apply new ways of thinking and behaving which will be beneficial in many circumstances in the future.
